Facemasks Killed Off Flu – But COVID Thrives ‘Cos We Won’t Wear Them?

It’s real headscratcher this one. We learned over the weekend and I’ve written about it on this site, that flu is gone, flu is gone away, flu is gone baby, flu is gone to stay. At this time of year, hospitals are usually overflowing with flu patients. Not this year. The number of hospital admissions for flu was zero as of mid-January. Flu is at its lowest level in 130 years.
Where has it gone then? Martin Marshall, Chairman of the Royal College of GP’s has the answer. He told The Sunday Times:
“It makes sense when you consider the lockdown restrictions, social distancing measures, and increased focus on maintaining good hygiene practices we are seeing at the moment ,which will work to stop the spread of contagious illnesses such as colds and flu, as well as Covid-19.”
What kind of fuckery is this? You’re actually telling us that flu has disappeared off the face of the Earth, because of the lockdown restrictions? So you mean that by wearing masks, keeping apart and basically living under house arrest, we’ve defeated the flu? Honestly?
So why is Covid-19 running riot at the moment, according to you and your pals Martin? Why are cases and deaths spiking? Hang on…what’s that you say? It’s because we are not following the guidance?!? Are you out of your mind Martin? Flu is gone because of the restrictions but Covid thrives because we’re not obeying the restrictions? Where did you go to school Martin? Was it Hogwarts?
I said it before and I’ll say it again. There is a room full of Covid scriptwriters, laughing their asses off at just how gullible the British public is. I bet they have daily competitions to see who can come up with the most outlandish nonsense to be swallowed up and regurgitated by the media. Whoever came up with “masks killed flu, but not wearing masks spikes Covid” is the current World Champion.
