I’d rather die and be aliveThan die and just be deadI’d rather fry than compromiseWith flies around my head“Death to Self!” the placard screamsWhile anger inside roils“End it now, it pointless seems!”Midst oceans on the boil“What is this ego death, pray tellWhat is this end to self?”The specter looms with grin from hell“Perhaps be truth thyself”The banter rolls around the cageDampened by the fluffMuffled, no expected rageThe audience? A bluff. The lusting, liquid mind is quick“No matter – hit the spot!”“Perceive or not perceive I will!Believe, or I am not!”The pixelating picture fadesAnd falls to end of screenIllusion and its many gradesWere never as were seenThe show goes on, the limits burnLike layered walls of brickYet slowly, ever slow we learnThat naught will ever stick
